Yea, I looked at then from some of the suppliers that I use for tooling at work, but the Brownells is cheaper and I have one on backorder from them. No telling when they may have it tho, so.. Lanham, I've sent you a pm... lol
I always use a taper tap if I don't have to tap all the way to the bottom of a blind hole (that's what a bottom tap or plug tap is for and even then I start the threads with a taper tap and then finish with a bottom or plug tap). The taper tap is easier to get the threads started with and if you have a through hole, use the taper tap!
Thanks! I will keep posting up pics as I progress, that is part of the fun.. lol
I have been doing some organizing in the shop and finally found a 1.5" endmill, so... having a spare 0%, I may well do the initial milling on the deck and buffer tube section to try and catch up with my #1 build so I can bore and tap both at the same time (then I can go back and do the side drilling and milling on #2).
Been a bit swamped of late, so bear with, it'll be a slow progression...
Got my Paperweights today.) Ya know, these are a bargain at $20 each - blank billet would probably cost more. So now its on to tooling. And barrels, and furniture, and . . . .
