Let's build a 4 cylinder

Your ingenuity is impressive. Loving the progress.

Thanks Chris and wachuka for the the kind words.

Made up and threaded 8 lifter/spring retainer pieces for the valves.
I made minor adjustments to the lifters so each cylinder would be inline with the other cylinder on that bank for the overhead cam clearance.

I am tired of laping valves and taking the heads off and on but I do have compression on all four cylinders now.
I added some springs and here it is.

Cam shaft brackets are next.

Thank you very much Savarin.
I also watch your projects closely.

I was able to get the 4 cam brackets cut out and the bearings installed, then I ran out of steam.

The red color is a reflection off my tool box. Sorry

I have the cam brackets mounted and the belts that were the wrong length for the flat twin are going to work just fine on this engine.

I think it's about time to make a base and get the engine bolted down so it is more stable.

Thanks for looking

Amazing work. Overhead Cam on a Flat 4 looks awesome

wachuko and Boswell thank you for your kind words.
This engine will be taller and longer and wider than the flat twin was even tho I have reduced the thickness and length of many of the components.
It just keeps growing.
