I ordered the made to order belt for my tool post grinder.
They offer less friction. Before I had that, I was using a rubber belt from a vacuum . That heated up like crazy.
It might work.
The heat from the rubber ones is extremely high. These are turning at a high speed, even if it doesn't seem it with my Themac.
The rubber can get really super hot, and difficult to touch, and has flung off during long runs. When it cools it's good again.
if you already have the pulleys and belt, it might be worth a try. My rubber belt was not like that, it was a flat rubber that fit/replaced the cloth belt.
The Dumore belts are woven, glass-reinforced, and rubber impregnated. Pretty much like the backer of a V-belt, minus the heavy cording. The crowned flat pulleys do a remarkable job of retaining the belt. I haven't noticed any heat buildup, but my rinky-dink "Tomb Thumb" model at 1/15th hp might as well be a Dremel compared to your build. Still enjoy watching your progress, cheers!
