Now that is a beast of a CNC Mill.

What will you be making with it?

Is it in good working order, or does it need some work?

I have some gold prospecting equipment to build. It's too large for the Grizzly mill hence this oversized bed mill. 14" diameter round discs and 24-36 inch long tube, flat stock.

They say it was in working condition when the previous owner passed. It's certainly full of chips that don't look old. But man that's 1996 electronics and I don't have 3ph power. Rather than buy a RPC I'm inclined to consider upgrading to VFD or a Digital motor vs the variable speed belt pulley. I'm very likely to go through the entire machine and bring it back up to reliable operation.

Well damn! Congratulations! Will you re-do the control system?

I want to say yes, probably the Fanuc Acorn guys are using for CNC conversions. Larger flat screen. Get rid of the giant TV sized control box.

Sweet! FWIW when leveling my Logan after my move I put on machine feet & raised the lathe ~ 1/2" as a start point. Worked out well.
