.060"?? that is pretty darn thin for a support pillar. Heck, my Clarke Drill press had a 0.1968 (5mm) wall and that was only a bench mount drill press! Damned heavy thing too!

Ended up giving that DP to a friend because I was "upgrading". 4 years later, I still have not purchased any form of replacement for it!

I think you could fit my entire lathe in the chip tray of yours!
a year ago I had a South Bend 9x48 model A. decided I wanted to upsize but had no intention of going this big. it just fell into my lap at a crazy price. it is a thousand times more capable than I am. but it is fun.

that's colossal for a drill press. my 1946 Delta 17" has a 3-1/2" dia column that's almost 1/4" thick and no way it's going to bend. must be a huge drill press. I'll have to google Arboga.
