What Did You Buy Today?

I bought these things. I want to say they were like 9 dollars at Woodcraft? They’re quite a bit bigger than I expected, and it even looks like it’ll fit some taper tools. I hate digging in drawers for hand tools. IMG_2505.jpeg

Does anyone still use CB radios? In the past we participated in several RV caravans. CB radios were required as a means of communication between the members (usually around 30 motorhomes) and the leaders. In the early 2000's there was plenty of chatter on the airwaves, and at times it was even hard to get through to others in the group because of the volume of radio traffic. As time went on there was less and less traffic.

The last time we went to Alaska (on our own) in 2019 there was almost no CB traffic the entire 7,300-mile round trip. The radio was silent for 99+% of the trip. About the only traffic was near the cities. We know the CB was working properly because it also has a weather radio. We could pick up weather warnings throughout the trip.
I've heard lots of caravan type users have gone to GMRS.

Haven't tried it yet, still have my CB. Last time I used it was driving I-80 from Michigan to California, not a lot of traffic but some around cities.

Looks about normal for around here.

Northern climate heating about 60M BTU per year for the average house. Double that for a leaky log cabin or similar.

Can you estimate how much wood is there dry (lbs)? We could take a stab at if that is a lot of wood or not.
(Sorry, Engineer can't help it! :) )

When we had a house in VT, we had a wood stove, That would slowly eat wood. We did have electric baseboard to protect the house when we weren't there.
