So did he sell it or just backed out of the deal ? I never was able to locate the lathe on FB if that's where it was listed .

Prolly went and looked it up and decided it was worth 10X more.... (Its only worth what someone is willing to pay)

He discovered that the word "vintage" would multiply its value several times and wants to relist it.

He's probably got a die grinder and some heavy-duty Scotch Brite pads, some 220 grit sandpaper, and a couple rattle cans of paint. A little cleanup and he can get much more!

Tim messaged me and said the guy sold it before he got there . I never saw the ad on FB , but the lathe was up near Tom's place . Maybe he included some original barn dust along with the lathe .
