Sons of Guns

you do get that feeling after watching a few episodes. and also wonder how something so poorly built can function. this is the feeling I get after watching each episode.

My feeling on sons of guns isn't good! They give gun ownership a bad name. To often the end is of them blasting hell out of something! Makes most of the viewers think all gun owners are crazy! I seen a few shows but now avoid it! I really think that show is intended to promote gun control!

---the question that has always come to my mind is if these ''gun smiths '' ever did make a gun someone wanted to buy --how in the world could they ''re-produce'' a previous product they built with a 4--inch. makita grinder and a wire feed mig??? i just don't think it could happen. just my .02 cents--but it's free. re steve in montana

It Strikes me as a thing of "Let's Find some Failing shop and turn it in to a Reality Show. Then with Proper marketing we can turn their junk Merchandise in to profitable "MUSTY HAVE" junk we can sell for big Bucks" I had the displeasure of seeing some of those JUNK OCC bikes when the Tuttles were at the State Fair, You couldn't Pay me to Haul one off to the scrap yard as it might infect anything using it's recycled metal. But seriously the reason they cover the Bridgeport logo is that they do it in the pilot episode and show the show to companies like Bridgeport, then tell them "if you don't pay us XXX$ we'll take the tape off and show them what kind of Craftsmen us their tools". obviously Bridgeport Ponied up the money to keep the tape over their LOGO :)

I have seen Sons Of Guns several times, and I am more interested in HOW THEY DO IT than I am in WHAT THEY DID. I must say though, the young lady who sits in the front office if really something to look at.

Show us how they design the parts, and how they machine them. They have a really nice Haas equipped machine shop.

As for American Chopper, if you look up slimeball in the dictionary, you'll probably find the old man's picture and social security number.

Good Luck with that. Those Guys just like American Junkers and American Winter Beaters . Those guys don't make nothing, they ASSEMBLE bought parts and decorate the cake! and of course they have a nice shop full of tool, All Posers have the best gear to make up for their Fakeness! ALL SHOW AND NO GO! Oh and that Gal you mention, I can't watch that show because of cost , I always feel Obligated to throw $1 bills at the TV when she's on screen! Shows like that Cheapen our skill set and Ability to be craftsmen and make us that can use tools look like IDIOTS!

seen the show this past week (hey, has some guns, and some machines... so was worth checking out). I must say, wasn't impressed by their builds, and they seem to have a pretty nasty finishing on their products for some reason, always looks like it was painted in a hurry with a spray can

I saw one of their class 3 12 ga shotguns at a local shop.

TOTAL POS.

American Chopper,

When I was a kid I watched shows like Beverly Hillbillies and Gilligans Island - they now seem like intelectual shows compared to what they produce now. If in doubt shout!

Sons of Guns

They sure do alot of grinding! Now that I'm retired I would like to do a little hobby gunsmithing again. I guess I will have to ensure that my grinder inventory is up to par!
