I made leveling pucks from 12L14 pucks I found on eBay. These were 3-1/2” by 1-1/16” cut in a bandsaw. I faced them for length and chamfered them in the lathe, making pucks of just the right thickness to prevent rocking on the slightly uneven slab. The finished thickness ranged from .835 to 1.002. The mill doesn’t rock in the slightest now. I used roofing paper as a friction interface, which I also did under the lathe leveling feet per South Bend instructions from about 1950. It works to keep the cast iron from slipping on the steel pucks.
