Recommendations for a small lathe please

It can be done but requires a lot of forethought. Here's some pics of my Grizz 11x29 (basically a longer version of the 10x22)

Nice job. This lathe is far larger than a 7x16 lathe. Comparatively speaking you have tons more room. How bit is the read head? It look relatively compact. LMS has no dimensions for the read head at all.
 
So Philly area?
I have a small Grizzly lathe I picked up at auction (for no good reason sigh) that I need to sell.
Let me get a model number and see what size the spindle is…

That is a short read head, for sure. The one I was looking at was 70mm. The scale I originally ordered had an 80mm wide head and it wouldn't fit without a lot of changes that I was unprepared to do.
