POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Unless they are like my missus, who is just as mad as I am, understands why I do what I do, why I need and have the tools I have and not only actively supports it, but finances it to a degree too.

Win-Win for me.

Yes, I am expecting to see the "you suck" board. Yes, I can understand why some might be of that opinion. All that means is, you have not found the "perfect" partner, at least, not the way I see it.
We’ve come to a similar agreement. She wants to bring work home and have a bunch of pets that she takes care of? Or paint the interior walls wild colors? Who am I to get in the way when she’s doing all the work. I want to have tools in my half of the garage? Or fill a closet with blinking computer stuff? Not her problem to deal with as long as I keep the dog away from the steel chips.

It can be good to suck.

A Milwaukee Packout first aid box to store my Peppa Pig plasters in
This arrived, so I decorated it with blood transfusion related decals and mounted it on the shop wall. I hope no transfusions are needed due to machining related accidents :encourage:

What I’m still figuring out, is a tidy way to label the contents.

Finished helping a friend get the transmission out of his 10k forklift. It was a complete pain in the ar$e

Forklifts are like little armored vehicles with hard wheels instead of tracks. Nothing is easy to reach. But having a friend with a forklift that you're up a favor on... That's priceless!

Finally "pulled my finger out" (as an English saying goes) and got this split leadscrew machined up. It is Imperial. I have the metric to do. Which I will. Later.

Couple of small jobs to finish including adding a key slot on one end for the change gear, cleaning up ashoulder on the stub section and then I need to cross drill and ream for the pair of taper pins to lock the leadscrew to the stub section.

However, I want to make a jig for that so I can repeat the cross drilling on the metric leadscrew in the same position.

Yeah, I think forklift mechanics must have very small hands. He has a skid steer but wanted something with more lift capacity. This one turned out to be too big, he’s after a 6k pneumatic tired one once he gets this one sold
