POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Go to your Dremel kit, and find a 1.5 mm diamond abrasive-doped bit. Plunge it (using your mill or drill press) into the screw to cut away the broken face, leaving a flat surface. Then drill through with a carbide drill bit. Then use whatever fits the hole as an arbor/extractor, and back out the shell. Good luck, that's a toughie. If it was more proud of the insert seat, I'd zap a nut on the stub with the welder and go from there, but that might be too deep for its size to do that.
I would prefer a left handed drill bit. Since you have damaged one side, it may not come out that way, so back it out from the other direction.
Mount it in the mill, and center it up. Then drill in reverse. hopefully it grabs and removes the bit.

Yes: this is how I was able to remove a 2mm setscrew from an Aluminum knob (very carefully - didn’t touch the threads in the knob so was able to reuse).

Make one of these, very simple to make and use.
Its helped me out heaps of times

Working on a new robot cart, got some kiddos welding in there too!

Finished wiring things up and did a test run with no problems.

Cabinet door in place and aligned.
Got the belts installed, made final adjustments and mounted a few miscellaneous parts.
This finishes off the headstock and drive portion of the lathe.

Need to make mounts for the casters so I can get it off the skates then install the saddle and apron to finish it up!

@savarin, Thanks a lot - really! - for posting a link to the description of the construction of this simple DIY EDM.
I was also looking for it and found a few easy constructions/schemes, but your link is very interesting and what's more, it's a detailed description.
I've been "getting ready" to build this very useful toy for a long time, but I always lack the time. I have a few very different unfinished projects that are still waiting for mercy :)
Hmm... maybe I should change my nickname to "Unfinished Projects Specialist"? :)

PS: Overall, a "mikesworkshop" site is a very interesting - thanks again.

Damn . Such a small bathroom to gut . Never knew how much weight there was in the tiles on the walls , tiles on the floors , the concrete on the floors , the frikkin metal mesh in the concrete below the tiles , the cast iron tub , the toilet , sheet rock on the walls , etc etc etc . I wish I was 20 YO again . Been a long day but knocking it out .
Darn near killed myself after I chose to do the demo on our kitchen tile counters. What a mess!
Grout and wire mesh and the volume of debris.

I just write a check now.

Did a complete master bathroom. Moved the toilet to a different location. It's a slab floor $$$ cha ching.
Over $50,000.
We wrote a check.
Actually, that darn near killed me too :)
