POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

What is this? I have been having problems with my inner ear again, way off balance and can't get my eyes to focus past 3 feet, and can't clear it using the procedure to get rid of the crystals.
So laying low, but got this done as I have wanted it for a long time.

Whoa,
I get it. It's terrible. I hope you heal up pronto!!

Never heard of the crystals until a couple weeks ago

I had BPPV. Taking a walk, I tilted my head up and to the left watching a flock of geese overhead and all of a sudden I couldn't stand. It took a bit to get back to normal. Scared the heck out of me.

""Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common inner ear disorder that causes brief, repeated episodes of vertigo, or a spinning sensation, when you change head positions""

Vertigo, that's a new one for me.

Made some door hinge bushings for my brother’s S10 truck. He’s been through several sets of the replacement bronze bushings and they keep crumbling and falling apart. He’s giving up and asked me to make some steel ones.

I don't know what it is about Chevy's but those hinge bushings have been an issue for decades.

unfortunately, I am having very horrible vision. I can't see worth a damn. Went to the ophthalmologist, and they have given me a script for glasses, bifocals, But I am worried that the bifocal may be too powerful. I am going to order a cheap set on line to make sure I am not wasting my money.

From what I’ve of imports, the GM door problems are that they are heavy (and the hinged ars heavy, too:

2016 Equinox; IIRC, my ‘86 S10 Blazer had 1/4” thick bent bar stock hinges & 3/8” pins.

Picking up from the previous page. I’m now back at the shop and the test print seems to have turned out just fine:

The edges are quite sharp, so I will probably chamfer them in the final design :geek:
Looking forward to seeing this posted to a site.
Hello folks,

Here I am at the library again and printing what I hope is the final product. This time with chamfered edges:

While the printer is at it, I picked up some quality literature (Koneistustekniikat by Keijo Maaranen) to educate myself:

I already went through the above scenario in my head. Pillar drill casts hair removal and I counter the attack with male pattern baldness. I win

Quite the library with Japanese texts! Sadly my lack of practice over the past 47 years means I can remember maybe 3 trite phrases. #1 Zuto mai e ne, Nippon de sunde imashita ga, zanen, zembu wasuremshita (A long time ago I lived in Japan. Unfortunately I've forgotten everything). I doubt I could follow simple directions now. Kanji, forget it. I can't read what I wrote in '77

Been in the basement all day . Sorting and separating things . Got the UC fired up with 50 or so end mills cooking the Kroil off them . Interested party is looking at large end mills .

cooking the Kroil off them
The smell of that stuff makes my lungs stop working.
Rapid Tap does the same thing. It's ok for hand tapping but no turning or milling.

The older I get the more sensitive I am to smells and scents.
No perfume or scented candles are allowed in our home.
My bride use to use perfume in our younger years. Ah the memories :)
