POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I'm not sure I want to know what a noodle dancer is? What's her name?
I think it's one of those blow up tubes that collapse and blow up over and over. Mostly car dealers or to attract customers at any business.

Working from our place in Puerto Rico. Used the weekend to change the doors for the main entry and outside storage closet. Went with aluminum door that are powder coated to look like wood. Let's see how these hold...

Had to replace a fan, also added a fan in front of the bathroom vanity... First time around, I made the mistake of using fans not design for areas near the ocean... these are all PVC and will last a lot longer.

And we took a break to visit my wife's sister and... well... we were forced to have a few beers...

Since we rely on good internet and power to be able to work from here, installing an automatic transfer switch and a battery to avoid service interruption. This will allow us to work more often from here. We went with an EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 and just one battery... this should cover our needs. Got the battery here already and waiting for the install of the transfer switch panel...

make sure that battery is above flood stage. The door looks nice, BUT.. it's Aluminum.

Apartment is on the second floor (but no stairs as there is a walkway right to the parking lot), so no issues with flooding. We wanted this setup (second floor) as I did not wanted to do any stairs as we got older...

I know... it is aluminum... but that is the approved replacement for the doors that face outside. Many apartments have already changed them. Since there is no sun or rain hitting them, they should last and hold up fine.

After giving my friend his generator back after Helene we bought one for ourselves, a dual fuel one as all the gas stations went down here last time.

It’s pretty heavy and I didn’t want to spend another $60 for a wheel and handle kit, plus I had a couple of lovely 6” wheels going spare, so I rolled my own. Couple of spindles for the back wheels, two risers for the front and a nice long handle out of thick walled 3/4” pipeIMG_5143.jpegIMG_5144.jpegIMG_5145.jpegIMG_5147.jpegIMG_5148.jpegIMG_5149.jpegIMG_5153.jpegIMG_5154.jpeg

Working on FIRST Robotics linear actuators, learning from the Lady Cans...
3d printing, modifying the 5 start screw end. Then realizing that the pulley is bored to 3/8"... I don't have a broach bushing for. My stepper driven power feed was sweet for the many super slow passes

The square root of fekk all.

I put my back out on Saturday morning... unloading the dishwasher for fekk's sake.

Not as bad as the first time, 6 years ago (that was close to 'pass-out/throw-up' pain territory) but I couldn't support myself on my legs and had to hold myself up on the countertop with my arms, until I could let myself down slowly in to the floor.

Fortunately, two nights sleep and ibuprofen is now knocking back the discomfort and keeping moving is stopping me seizing up, but it's frustrating, verging on enraging, not being able to get in the workshop.:mad::(
