POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I bought the stock dust collection for my bosch saw, to see how well it worked. Gotta say, I don't know what people are complaining about.
I didn't purchase the 90 degree attachment, instead added a 45 degree pvc attachment. It wouldn't fit well so I turned some pvc pipe to size. One to allow the 45 to mate with the dust piece. The other to mate the pvc to the hose.
So yea, some lathe turning.
The dust collection is about 80-95 %.. good enough for me.

Also there is a set of set screws to control the saw, and by heating the lower set screw I was able to remove it and replace it with a longer one, and now the saw does not knock the hose off when up fully.

Today is a sad day. Time to put the monster away for winter. Those ponies don't like being couped up for so many months, but they'd just hurt themselves out in the snow.

Gave it a quick bath to wash the dust and bugs off, and took it for a spin to blow dry so the dust cover won't scratch the paint.

Spent the last week (and part of tomorrow) getting everything set for winter. Cleaning the garages, moving winter stuff out, and summer stuff away. Last thing to do is get the loader off and chains and blower on the tractor. Have a procedure coming up Monday that'll leave me with lifting restrictions and set me back at least a month. Gotta be ready for snow before then...

good to put away bad snow drivers.

I saw a guy drive a Corvette (1960s late 60s if I remember correctly) in a snow storm into a drainage ditch and tear apart the body (and probably undercarriage)... I thought what made you bring that out on a ridiculous day like today. Anyone with an old car like that can't be using it as a daily driver. Oh well, some people have no brains.

Doing the same thing. Time to put them away for the winter. Keeping the classics just that. Way to much fun but getting the to point in life I need to be thinking about moving things on so others can enjoy as much as I did. In the meantime I wonder what others are doing. Appreciating the cards I've been delt at times.

All I do for Winter prep is make room in the garage for both cars: with prep (and a big shoehorn) I can get both of the in, but the driver’s sides need to be in the center)

Does this sum the experience up?

Today is a sad day. Time to put the monster away for winter. Those ponies don't like being couped up for so many months, but they'd just hurt themselves out in the snow.

That reminds me of Uncle Shelby...

P is for Pony.
See the pony.
The pony lives in the gas tank of Daddy's car.
He makes the car go.
That is called "horse power".
Maybe the pony is hungry--
Pour some nice sugar into the gas tank.
Ponies love sugar.
When Daddy comes home tell him you have fed the pony and maybe he will buy you a cowboy suit.

Who says I can't keep on topic?

Cleaning the big garage continue, i've been cleaning every time i go in and out, i've fill and thrown out over 10 big trash bags. The new shelf got the bottom filled with engines, top shelf also got some more rims. I fitted a new light above it i'm still working on some of the fluids, and the house paints.

Put the Atlas on a bench. It’s been on a toolbox for years. It’s finally bolted to something. I’ll leave it here for a while before I bolt the bench to concrete. I want to make sure this is where I want it.
