what about flies? if you bait it with meat, I assume you get a ton of flies????

Since it is bait, I set mine up away from the house which drew the wasp away from the house. We do have tons of flies anyway, but I don't ever notice an abnormal amount around the trap. I do see dead flies on the water with the wasp, but probably at about 20 to 1. I don't know if the flies stay clear of the yellow jackets or what but the flies aren't an issue, again, away from the house about 50 yards. I will be putting out a new trap when temps drop a bit and will pay more attention to the visitors. Right now at 100+ degrees for 41 days so far this summer, nothing seems to be moving much.

Inner tube protection.

We have an electric wheelchair that we use in the yard like a tractor.

We call it the "mule", very handy.

One of the tires went flat, the leak was on the inside next to the rim.

These have a split wheel that makes it easy to do, but there is a possibility of damage.

So we ordered a pair of replacement tubes, then the light went off.

Cut out the valve stem.

There is a line at the outside edge, so cut it open along the line.

Put just enough air in new tube to make shape.

Put the old tube over new one, valve stem through the hole where old one was.

What is not shown is we used foil tape (hvac duct tape) to go around the outside to hold it in shape until we get it inside the tire, it gives maybe some protection from stickers.

Inside the tire, the wheel halves go back together and all good.

Let’s see if this thing works… Parker Series P1L - Model P1LN063DNN203.000/ANNS. I do not know where it came from. My brother gave it to me. It was from a pile of stuff someone was putting in the garbage... So if anyone knows what this is usually used for, would be cool to know.



Ordered some hose, valve, adapters and did a quick assembly... placed a spring in the valve switch so it goes up after releasing it.



Oh yeah baby!! Running it at 100 psi. Specs reads: Envelope Pressure 150 psi Air.

And by the way, those water drops... me sweating like a pig... is insane how quickly and how much...

Got the little surface grinder home last night. If possible, I like to figure out what a machine is doing before I go through it. First order of business was get a little oil on the ways. After that, a wheel dresser. The previous owner had ground aluminum with it so there were silver boogers packed into the stone. After I cleaned the stone I needed sumpthin to grind. Why not the dresser holder? The little Sanford did well

After measuring all the corners from all directions, the greatest error I found was .0002. That might be significant since this part is 1”x1.25”x1.5”.

I’ll worry about that after I get it cleaned up.

I just saved my house.. possibly.
I had a mapp cylinder fall from about 5 feet up, and was headed to the concrete. I knocked it off by taking one of the organizers off another shelf.
I put my foot out and caught it right in the crook of my ankle, I was able to hold it there for a second and let it down easy.

Whew....

Reminds me of the time I moved my Coleman camp stove in the garage. I installed a propane tank (a small one pound can)
A few minutes later I came back outside ,I smelled propane.
=Water heater + gas = bad day.
I finally found the cocked cylinder was leaking. Whew!!

I don't mind bees but yellow jackets are nasty. I had the same yesterday above my kitchen door they were trying to create a nest in the eave.
I've sprayed them 5 or 6 times and they are still there. I don't get it.

We call yellow jackets that live in the ground, meat bees. They are nasty little buggers.
If you disturb their nest or accidentally rake leaves in the area they attack you.
One bite on my leg put me in the ER.

I had planted some shrubs by the shed. I noticed some holes by the roots, thought I hadn't filled it in well enough. I was weed wacking around it with a 2 cycle, and the noise ****** them off, they attacked me like a swarm. I dropped the weed whacker while it was running and ran.
I got stung a few times. Since it was running they didn't calm down until it shut, and then some. I waited until dark and picked it up.
I sprayed the bejesus out of those holes, and removed the shrubs shortly thereafter. I felt like I had been zapped by 120 volts, they had gotten me good, so I got them back.

edit: I don't understand why the word P I S S E D is considered an issue and requires redaction.

Yellow jackets love to build nests in the farm equipment. Just disturb them a little and they are all over you. We keep wasp spray in handy locations. It is as important as personal protective equipment. Boy they sure hurt.
