POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

I've got a bucket full of Jacobs chucks, many unworn, at least one has NOS cosmoline still. If they weren't well suited as backups, I'd pour them overboard and chum the water with them. It's hard to go back after using Albrechts.
How many you need ? When I clean out the basement I think I have a few . Dozen

Last night, I got a nice NOS Jacobs arbor to complete my Albrecht family tree. I'm moving up in the world, now MT#3 is my small common taper, and MT#4 is the large. I don't have any MT#2 native spindles anymore, so maybe I should swap those out too.

Where are you finding those???

We should get together with all our chucks and shoot them like marbles. Any that you knock out of the circle you keep!

I don't have any fancy N-series Jacobs, so maybe those are the good ones, and I've just missed the boat on Jacobs chucks altogether.

@wachuko, I've been finding them one at a time and paying fair market. I might get a sensitive one, but I think I'm done... but a nice, used Albrecht shouldn't cost any more than a NIB "precision" version of a Chinese keyless.

Before anybody cast a stone! I paid for only a few of these. Some were broken or stuck, some were in with a pile of "stuff". From memory, I paid for the short shanked 3/8", the 1/2" albrecht with the 5/8" INTEGRAL shank, a 1/8" "D" taper, and one of the sensitive feed tiny ones as well as the 20n and 18n's, as Al Bundy would say, "The Bigguns". The rest were orphans or in wheel chairs. And with the exception of the one integral shank chuck I didn't buy any size that I already had. The most I paid was $125 for the 20N and $120 for the integral shank unit. It was unused and I just had to find out if integral shanks were more concentric.

Sadly I still have a couple Jacobs N's and one albrecht that need repair but they need parts that I am not willing to buy so they will be organ donors.
