Need to cut 2 angles.

Untitled.jpgIt's not pretty but you'll get the idea. Probably have to have an angle iron longer than your part so you can clamp it to the mill table and drill it for some clamps for your work. Hope that made sense :dunno:

that makes sense. i would have to use C clamps for the working piece to that angle iron.

the angle iron would go into the vice right?

excellent!

When I needed to do something similar I milled flats on the corner of the angle in two places, drilled it through the flats, and bolted it down to the table T-slots. Don't crank it down too tight or the angle won't be 90 degrees any more. If you need an accurate angle you'll want to mill the sides of the angle to equal heights and the edges to equal thickness.

Drill the face of the angle in convenient places and use your mill clamps to secure the work to it.

i found this bandsaw for $65 on craigslist that has a tilt head.

can this bandsaw cut through 6061 aluminum easily?

I would think so if you can slow it down enough. It looks as though it was used for wood which requires a higher speed. That's labeled as a two speed so maybe it will run slowly enough for metal/aluminum.

yea its 2 speed. it can cut aluminum. i think i have to use a fine toothed blade for it and just feed the aluminum slowly

fine tooth is gonna gum up. You want fine tooth on thin walled tube or sheet metal o as to have multiple teeth in the material at a time. Maybe a 10-14tpi
