Not a bad idea, but my T slots are pretty narrow, and the blocks are about 3" tall. I would be worried about their stability. My table is in rough enough shape that it's not likely to make much difference either way.I would make them slightly thinner to fit inside the tee slot. This will prevent the base of the step block sitting on the bed and instead sitting on the base of the tee slot. They can still be used on top of the bed with protection when required.
Yeah it definitely look better with that side fly cut like the rest of it, but I've been working on other things in the mean time and haven't made the time. Maybe some day.Very nice!
They look too good to leave the band saw finish!
You could screw a pad on the base to fit the tee slot base. Or cut a groove in each side of what you have to fit in the tee slot. Not a bad idea, but my T slots are pretty narrow, and the blocks are about 3" tall. I would be worried about their stability. They are Lefts and Rights, just turn the cut side away! Not a bad idea, but my T slots are pretty narrow, and the blocks are about 3" tall. I would be worried about their stability. My table is in rough enough shape that it's not likely to make much difference either way.
