I was a a scrap metal dealer yesterday looking for some material for a project when I spotted this. It is obviously a surfacing plate and has a ground finish on both sides. It's 12" by 12" by 1" thick and the amazing thing is it was not beat up too bad. I bought it for $10 and brought it home and spent a half hour draw filing and working the few dents with a stone and it came out dead flat. It's got three 3/8" threaded holes that had some stubby legs in them. :drink2:

very useful find and cheap also--let us know later how you use it---Dave:thinking:

Wow, great find.
Theres not a place to buy scrap like that around here that would be cool if there was.

Nice score - especially in the winter before it got all rusted. I don't usually go scrapping in the winter - maybe I should change my ways - once it warms up a bit.
-28 C here now.
