My 70 Nova project (Formerly looking at this mustang)

It's until social security kicks in at 65.

Was definitely worth it for $56 per month.

I think you'll be better off as retired, and concentrating on trying to improve yourself without worrying about any company stuff.

Yes overall I agree. I always wondered how long I could drive 100 miles a day and work 40 to 50 hour weeks, then come home and work 20 or more hours in my shop.

With the private insurance I bought I came out well financially. And my ebay sales are way up.. Just losing kaiser insurance sucks.

But I do have time to develop new parts i come up with. And I'm looking at a turning center. Got a manual lathe, but not a cnc.
More toys to play with.

Might even take a tig welding class in September. That's if I can hold my hand steady enough for that.

Well decided to finally get back on the nova.. I bought a cnc lathe and have been spending too much time with it. So much I literally wore myself out, started making mistakes. I get tired easily now and can't work very long, but I can push through it, but pay a big price.

So took a couple f days off...........well stayed out of the shop and did research on the nova and today I found this to repower it.

The more I think about it the more worried I get thinking about the engine the PO built for it. After seeing everything else he did (screwed up and ruined) I don't want to run it and take a chance on blowing it up. And I wanted fuel injection. So today I bought a LS L92 engine out of a 2008 Escalade. It's a 6.2, 403hp from the factory for $3K. The engine was out so all I could so is check it over and check the oil on the dipstick. Oil looked great. It's a complete drop out with wiring harness, computer, drive by wire throttle pedal, and all engine accessories. I figure once I pieced together a fuel injection for the other engine I'd be in it $1500 to $2000. Now I have the other engine to put in my 55 when I get the nova running after I tear the engine apart. Notice I didn't say finished, these projects are never finished.

I need to get the wiring harness off and sent away to be modifed. I considered putting a bigger cam in it, they say I can add 50hp with just the cam, but I think with the leightweight block and heads and the power it has stock I think the car will be a hadful already. Just the way I like it.

I also got my track lock in today for the ford 9" Now I can put the axle together and if I ever get the car back from floor pan repair jail I'll start putting it all together.
