I have used dry MoS2 (molybdenum disulphide) powder (sort of like the graphite you ”squirt” into hinges and locks to free them up, and Locktite brand molybdenum grease for a lot of stuff over the years, and swear by the stuff. My old 1960’s furnace has a huge (but very quiet) blower that has bearings that have been going out for the last 30 years that I’ve lived here. The bearings are almost impossible to get to for service unless I tear out a couple of walls for access. When they started squealing I devised an oiler that I can snake in between the fins and get to the grease cups. This worked for a couple of years but required oiling about once every other month. Then I tried using the locktite moly grease, which is more af an oil than a grease. Really messy stuff, but I haven’t heard a squeak for the last 4 years. It just spins quietly. Fantastic stuff. I suspect some day down the line I’ll have to tear out the walls and replace the bearings, but till then....
Moly is an amazingly slippery material and when suspended in oils or greases becomes a true super lube.
It’s messy to use, but man does it work for every thing I’ve ever used it for.
