Is this bronze

My first thought was beryllium copper, but I'm just sick like that.
 
I'm only making a couple of bushings, but I'm asking what it is just out of curiosity.
 
OMG, make sure it's not beryllium, nasty health issues
 
Beryllium Copper is generally very hard , they make spark proof tools for the nuclear industry (wrenches, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, hammers , pliers, etc ) from the alloy
 
660 bronze turned on my Sherline produces a fine dust/chip like Tubby describes.
Bronze throws hot little shavings similar to cast iron. I agree it looks like copper.
