If the riser was factory installed it might be an interference fit. Do you have any qualms about chucking the *entire* tool post in the 4 jaw and facing the aluminum riser off?

i thought of doing that but wasn't sure what I would run into and hate to destroy it. as is if I cant use it I can probably sell it or trade it for one I can use. There seem to be quite expensive and I have like 7 tool holders for it.
Maybe a swap ? Ask around for anyone with an Aloris AXA post and holders looking for BXA stuff . There may be a few people on here , I can think of at least one at the moment .

Yeah but that wouldn't be a fair swap for the OP, not straight up anyway!
These Dorian Quadra tool posts aren't the average Aloris QCTP style & they ain't cheap either! On these you can put on 4 tool holders simultaneously & lock/unlock each one independently (that's why there's 4 socket heads on top). The tool post can also be indexed (15-25 positions or something like that). Uses special tool post holders (the ends are angled).
Aloris also has a similar tool post (but I think the Dorian came out 1st for this style?)
