Cheap Chinese Tachometer problem

Good to know. Unfortunately that one you bought has smaller outside dimensions, won't fit the larger "window" I put in the front panel.

If this tach's readout is dead, can't you take a piece of sheet aluminum (or other material), and cut (mill) it like a bezel on a car radio? This would allow you to put in a better tach.

Sounds like a lot of work and I'm lazy. I will try another exact replacement first, especially because it's already been ordered. If I fry another one in short order, then I'll think about alternatives
