48hrs straight of managerial incompetence.

Try working for the government. Used to go on strike teams of five fire engines out of county. Could be anywhere in the state. The state fire fighters were worthless and had an ego bigger that all out doors. They had to be put up in a hotel every night. God forbid they sleep on the ground with the rest of us. They only worked 24 hour shifts. They were only good for six hours at the best. The federal fire fighters were a lot better to work with. The best of the ones to work with were the convict crews. They worked rings around the state fire fighters. I always wanted to put the fire out and go home because I had work on the farm that needed doing. The state workers would milk a fire as long as they could for the over time pay. It is no wonder why half the state burns every year.

PM me what tool makers make at these companies . Seriously , I need a good laugh after todays adventure .

It ain’t pretty.

Granted, with the perks I have due to being here so long it would be hard to leave for anything under $40, but even then, the jobs I would fit into and actually like just aren’t there.

My lead man, who didn’t show up for this M eff in project to day, makes a little over $35 and I’m just over $32.

You want easy OT, we can make north of $100k easy.

Management literally gets laughed at by interviewees when they get to compensation as new hires don’t get half of what I have.

I would jump right now but I would take a hit to my pension and still have to work.

In 3yrs I’ll be 60 and eligible for early retirement with full pension and an $800 a month stipend for gap insurance.

I’m planning on taking that and getting a job paying better and with the gap and SS I’ll easily bring in $2500 a month of free money.

This job is the definition of something you love to hate though. With 1300 people made up of all walks of life and having people from 17 different countries it’s a non stop variety show.

There’s always something to make you gasp or make your jaw drop and I’d kind of miss it if I split.

Fun fact, I work and am an acquaintance of Manute Bol’s uncle.

Had to edit the OP.

Chucky cheese esque Got spell checked into chickly cheese risqué. For those who may not know, Chucky cheese is a kids pizza party venue that got caught recycling used pizza slices back into “New” pizzas and reserving them vs throwing them out.

Another epic fail was our 2 Millionth unit celebration party. Instead of Chic-Fil-A chicken nuggets for 40 people they ordered a 40 piece chicken nugget take out box.

The icing on that cake was instead of fixing this and buying cafeteria food for everyone who didn’t bring a lunch due to this “party”, they asked everyone to help themselves to ONE…. 1… a single. tiny. chicken. nugget! so everyone could have something to eat.

I swore people were going to riot that day.

Then there was the raw chicken BBQ at the company picnic, a lot of people got the salmonella ****s that day.

I bought out 3 plants worth of equipment from my last company . Each time they took the money I paid and had a food truck come to the last remaining plant for day shift lunch and dinner for the night shift . :encourage:

We also had a free lunch once a week in our maintenance budget . Season's pizza was always the place to go every Friday . This disappeared when the plant production went down , so yes , it's happening everywhere . :dunno:

My plant recently called us all in to explain how we really needed to do well on meeting scheduled hours because they just upped the shop rate by 30%. We got a 3% raise a year ago, which works out to a negative 5 percent raise as I figure. Don’t worry though, the CFO will still be able to buy himself a boat this year.

im a welder by trade. had the boss come over complaining because he had to scrap out one of my parts because the machinist didnt check offsets before full send on the part i had welded. do you have any idea how much it cost to scrap one of these? he said "19500$" i just looked him dead in the eye and said, wow i got paid 25 bux to weld that part up... and walked away

Well fellas, this scenario seems to play out at most every big business. Not limited to trades. I see the same things happening in the engineering ranks as well as the manufacturing plants, the janitorial staff, everywhere. Same at suppliers and vendors. Not limited to the US either, see the same in the EU. This is truly a sad state of affairs. From what I've observed, it's a mix of inept middle management failing up and those who simply don't care about anything other than their own affairs and how to not be held accountable for anything.
