Yeah, money shift is a term used when instead of up shifting a manual car you select lower gear the engine rpm go above redline of the engine carnage usually follows.

I just got tired of dumping out a box of inserts and pawing through them for the right kind. I can’t really justify the horizontal surface area to lay them out in a drawer, so I made a kind of Rolodex for insert holders. It was about a 30 minute project, had to mount the Freud dial-a-dado head (which is a very nice design, btw) and that took most of the time. You can flip the holders forward to scan through the collection.

Other storage ideas?

Well I was supposed to be working on the entry doors for the machine shop and welding area, and I was, but then I got distracted (happens often with us oldsters) by the arbor press I picked up the other day. Was going to drop it in some Evaporust, but decided to try going after it with a wire wheel. Worked pretty well. Have been soaking it with buster loose for a few days now, and giving it a few love taps with a BFH. Few more days and I think I will have it operational. Also got the handle off with a little butchery. Mike

This was yesterday's project. Quick and dirty - needed a brace for the water hydrant in the mare barn, otherwise the hose gets pulled on and eventually results in a water leak at the bottom of the hydrant PEX fitting. Digging that up isn't fun.

This will soon get a coat of some sort of paint, probably from a rattle can.

Will have almost a week in these things, They came out of the restaurant building I converted to a residential rental. It was a barbecue place and the doors were very greasy, and pretty beat up. The process went, pressure wash, hand scrub, remove and clean all the weather stripping, straighten out all the dings and dents, sand, fix all the stripped out screws and bolts, wipe down with solvent, mask off, and finally, set up and spray. The door in the pic had one of the panes of the thermopane window smashed, so I removed all the fragments and resealed it. Just an interior door, so no real issue. It will have some kind of welding blanket curtain to protect the glass in the welding shop. Went with satin black to match the rails and hardware on the sliding garage doors that are going in next. Of course they are wider and taller than a standard 3.0x6'8" door, so had to demo, and re-frame both door openings. If I had to include my labor, my free doors probably cost me about $2500. LOL. Hope

everyone has a great weekend. Cheers, Mike
