You must take care of your back because it does get worse not better as you get older.
I broke L4 and L5 in the early 70's and suffer from the pain more now that when I broke it.
Pain killers can only do so much.
The main problem is when its doesnt hurt you forget in the heat of the moment then after you think "I wish I hadnt done that" knowing that later its going to hurt.
Please take care and dont overdo it.

I finished some parts and made several other parts today.

After roughing with a 4” long 1 1/4 corncob endmill

Took 2” doc .2”woc 5000rpm 80ipm
Hit about 75% on my spindle load meter and the only things that’s come close to that was some heavy roughing 4140ht

Part has 4 press fits for bearings another press fit for a threaded part and a precision bore for those brass parts I showed earlier.
Some other parts I made on the lathe.

Nothing very fancy today, but very useful. I made a collet to adapt my Interapid 312-B indicator to my Noga holder. I cut a 1/2" long piece of 3/8"diameter 1144. I drilled a 4mm hole in it. I then held the short piece in my dividing head and cut a 8.4mm deep 0.020" wide slot. I then rotated the dividing head 90 degrees and made another slot. Then I removed the piece from the dividing head and turned the piece around and put it in the dividing head. I used a 4mm plug in the hole so the 3 jaw chuck would not collapse the collet. The next slots were oriented at 45 degrees relative to the originals. The slots were as deep as I could make and not slice the chuck.

The collet worked better than expected. Snug fit, doesn't take much screw pressure on the Noga head to firmly grasp the Interapid. Pretty easy to make, as well.

Thank you all for the kind words, i'm taking care for my health more i even started sleeping more. On another note i did manage to finish the spacers for the lift kit on the little niva, i'm aiming for 35-40mm lift in the front, the back is simple just spacers under the springs. i'll need to grind fit the spacers and weld them in place. But i'll wait till i can move more and my back isn't hurting so much.

Well with my back injured i've had to stop working on the little niva, but that left the garage not in use, and my brother seized the opportunity, he showed up with this 206. The back story is my brother and his wife have a connection with another( orange 206) that you've may've seen in the background that car has title issues, and for the last 4 years they haven't been able to get fix. So my brother had enough, he returned the plates for it and bought this( blue) 206. It needs one of everything, but the orange one has all good parts, the only catch is it needs paint and everything transferred. To my brother will be doing all the work, with my guidance. First thing i've noticed the rev counter starts at 5000 rpm and the odometer isn't working, the roof has lots of hail damaged but it has brand new LPG system and 4 new tires. Let's see how this only guiding works. :laughing:

Before, we do any work i want to see what i have to work with on the blue 206. I started with a test drive, it has lots of noise on the front suspension, at the rear seams solid but sounds like one sock is bad or is metal on metal. And the instrument panel was saying the RPM gauge was moved, probably someone money shifted this thing hard. From driving it i can tell that is has around 1/4 million km and after i repair the instrument console i was correct on the odometer. Driving it made me appreciate my cars a lot more, this thing is like a go kart. The body seems to have some prior body work, the drivers front wing is from a gti 5 cm wider than the right side, both rear quarters have lost of body filler, front jacking points are rusted thru and the right sill panel is dented and rusted. Tomorrow i'll be putting it on the inspection pit and it the frame is good it will be transformed.

@GoceKU

What is "money shifted"?

Do you only have one brother? If so, he sure is lucky to have you. He has enough car problems for three or four brothers.
