Thank YOU Jason . I picked up a half square inch in the garage ! That 5900 series is looking good . Jason can attest to what the garage and basements look like btw . Kind of packed up , but getting there slowly .
did this last night .. worked late. One last thing to do is make a handle.
Man I am so glad I built this new lock. it is so easy to lock the quill now.
I realized yesterday while using it how nice it is.. But with the allen key and socket cap it wasn't complete, and it would fall out while cutting at high speed. So I pushed the knob up in priority. I cheated, cut a hex head shoulder bolt , and used it for the screw, pressed it into a cut off piece of steel. I love being able to use the tiniest scraps... I have a draw for AL, Steel, etc.
I will remove and make a better fix, but for now the lever is working again
Today is all about my daughter... She just graduated from her Masters... and we are running around getting the things needed for a small party with close friends this afternoon...
I still managed to sneak in the garage for this... A silly modification that adds no functionality whatsoever…
I finished assembling this old 4 inch vise that I bought a couple of weeks ago...
It's pretty beat up, but it's smooth and tight. I didn't spend much time trying to make it pretty, it will just get scratched up quick anyway. I have less than $160 invested... I think it's worth that... it's a good thing they didn't charge extra for the dents and dings...
