Nice haul Savarin are they Lady Finger variety?

sure are, ultra sweet. Well deserving of the term YUMMY.
They also make awesome desserts, wrap in spring roll wrappers sprinkled with brown sugar, roll up and deep fry.
The sugar remains on the wrappers and caramelizes

My project of the day was nothing to do with machining, it was cutting down a huge banana plant to harvest this bunch.
This is the largest bunch I have grown in the last 15 years.

A lot of my neighbors will be having nanas on their cereals for brekkie.
They have an unusual flavour thats nothing like the ones in the shops.
They taste of............
BANANA
is that at your old house, or new house?

I just completed a pair of 5" machinist's parallel clamps. I've been wanting a set and thought I'd just make them. Made from 1018 steel for the jaws and 12L14 for the screws. Threads are 3/8-16 (~M10X1.5 for you metric folks). Knurling came out okay, but was inconsistent as you can see.

I decided to go with the Starrett method of keeping the center screw in place by using a C-clip/snap ring on the inside instead of the usual spring steel on the outside. I wanted to try using these C-clips (first time) and grinded a 0.028" (0.71 mm) lathe tool to cut the groove. I'm very happy with the results.

Next, a 3" set.

The new house, 4th crop, we cut down a gigantic mango tree and planted the bananas in its place.
The fruit bats kept stealing the mangoes (that I love) and dropping them on the roof denting the tin.
I didn't realize that they could actually lift a mango ... sheez

those edges on the clamps look sharp.. ease them up... nice work.

I deburred them. Does it need more than that?

is it sharp? it's hard to tell from the pic. but if you were working with a sharp metal edge all day, you would not like it.
I had a spackling knife like that and when doing my basement, it really left me raw.. so I always think, do I want to handle that all day.
plus, sharp may leave some marks on some stock.

Today my theory that the white skoda's are competing for my attention has confirmed, elephant No:1 decided to become a 3 cylinder, an it has fresh servis, only 2-3 days ago i did an oil, filter and spark plug change. So i got it in the small garage, pull the codes, cylinder no:3 misfire so i pull all the spark plugs no 3 is wet. I clean, gap and install the old plugs that i removed few days ago to eliminate a factory defective plug but still the same, then i switched the coils and the misfire follow the coil so i know is a failed ignition coil, tomorrow i'll get a new ignition coil and install it, thankfully this one did not require a complete engine replacement. :encourage:
