2021 POTD Thread Archive

I tackled the roof on my 26' travel trailer today. The sun had taken its toll on it though it's been in covered parking the last year or so. What a messy job, and it didn't help that it was 102*. Anyway, I got it stripped down to the plywood and found some water damage and rot I'll need to replace. I hope to get new parts this week and have it back together by the end of next weekend.

Designed and printed a rack for my screwdrivers:

Cleaned and repaired the nozzle of my new-to-me reilang oiler - the tube was squished together at the top, as the previous owner had obviously lost the nozzle and just crimped it to make a small hole for the oil. I made it round again, cut some threads and made a turned a new nozzle. It’s now my cutting oil can. :)

Yeeee-Haaaa (or is it Wiiii-Haaa?) Nice design. I've built similar screwdriver racks (laboriously) out of wood, and can DEFINITELY see the advantages of 3D printing here.

Here’s the stl files for the screwdriver rack if anyone wants them:

My project of the day was nothing to do with machining, it was cutting down a huge banana plant to harvest this bunch.
This is the largest bunch I have grown in the last 15 years.

A lot of my neighbors will be having nanas on their cereals for brekkie.
They have an unusual flavour thats nothing like the ones in the shops.
They taste of............
