For those curios about how to weld cast aluminum with tig, my settings were 160 amps ac, 60% balance, lots of cleaning action, I always use pointed tungsten on ac, light up with a little bit of pedal and let the cleaning action burn up the area to be welded, then back step and pedal down, I used 1/16th rod, get in and get out
Good information; I hope I can find it if I need it someday.

People have been pairing maple with mahogany for over half a century and they certainly didn't do any studies on differential expansion/contraction. It's worked well, I would say :)

True. However as for studies, during one of my apprenticeships we studied material dating back to the late 1600's regarding the intermixing of wood specifies so even the great violin masters were cognizant of wood movement. The Spanish have a great library of literature on the various blends of our equivalent hyde glue from their guitar making history.

My dad who plays guitar ( primarily 12 string versions or Dobro ) can't understand why I would like to work on them yet have no desire to learn how to play on one! :)

I trammed my RF-25 clone today, got it to within 0,05 mm which I am pretty pleased about

Pretty much the same here too.
This isn't my bike, but pretty much identical down to the type of bags:
Mine is transportation, not much else. My back won't tolerate the "road race" style bikes neither will it deal with the jambing around in offroad. Pretty much smooth pavement or I'll walking/driving.....:)

I mostly ride for exercise and the occasional trip to the store. I walk as much as I can but my feet get sore and the bike allows me to give them a break. Also, in the hot Summer, the bike makes some breeze.

I would have to find one I could sit up straight on as the back problems do not put up with the bent over for longer periods grabing the handle bars. If I do a lot of walking I have to get the cane out, It ____ getting older.

Ever try a recumbent bicycle?
