Nothing special, just got tired of the Norton open gearbox spitting oil all over the place. Made a cardboard template to figure out the size/angle of a drip pan, and then cut up some some polycarbonate sheet (that doesn't shatter like acrylic). Glued the edges and then flowed some ABS solvent glue on the bottom and corners to prevent any leakage. No more mess. :acne:

Good idea, MKSJ. The first time I oiled the change gears in my G4000, I thought they had a sump and pumped a lot of oil in each of the 6 spigots. It made a very big mess under it.

Finished up the restoration of a hand powered bench grinder for a friend. He had admired one once, so when I saw one for sale I decided to buy it and fix it up for him as a gift. In the end it involved oversizing all the shaft holes in the aluminium casing and fitting brass bushes to remove all the slop, fabricating a whole new crank and handle, and a new paint job.

I broke one of the jaws on my old Craftsman vice earlier this year. ( I broke a tap off in one of the parts for my tool and cutter grinder and broke the jaw when I got frustrated and beat the tap out with a sledge hammer.) I didn't like those jaws anyway because they were serated and gouged up anything you clamped in them. So, I made some smooth jaws from CRS. I am much happier with these.

How come I never thought of that:dunno: I've cursed the gouges my jaws make in work for years.
Nice job and thanks for the idea..

I think the only thing I might add is two 'v' grooves for holding round stock. One vertical one horizontal. Only 'cause I needed them before.
