t nut for my compound

irishwoodsman,

The mill is trammed so I can get started on your T-nut.

I don't have a 12.5mm drill bit so I think I'll just drill a 3/8" hole and let you take it from there. I have no current use for a 14mm tap so don't want to purchase one.

that will be great, ty much, i know theirs alot of more tools i need but have to get a little at a time lol that way i can measure what i need and be able to explain and anwser questions lol

You need to start with a 0-1" or 0-25mm micrometer and get the outside diameter of the post measured properly. First order of business is to know the correct diameter, then the thread.
Thats #1 rule just wrote this down lol understand ty:biggrin:

Have you selected, or do you already have a toolpost?

LMS shows a 9/16-18 stud for the AXA series.
dia is a 0.68 and my son put a 1.5 thread gage on it and it fit fine, but leaveing the final fit up to me is prob best that way its in front of me and i dont have no oops lol:biggrin:
