Am I the only Fuddy Duddy?

I've got you beat. I haven't been to a NY's party since 1975.

I was in 1st grade in 1975. Getting to stay up until midnight back then was actually a big deal.

My wife says, I wish we could do something for New Year's Eve.
I say, I thought Sarah and Jake are having a big party.
They are but I don't feel comfortable going by myself.
I say, never stopped you before.

See, to me, New Years eve is a day to stay home and go to bed at a normal hour.
To my 69 year old wife it's a very special day that needs a party!!

So, she has a dilemma, not me :)

Hey, for Christmas I pulled the trailer out of storage to go stay at Laguna Seca and Monterey. Had a great dinner at sunset, ya da ya da.
I thought I was being a good sport. A week later she wants more........?????
Im ready for bed by 10pm have been since 25 years old.
The kids and I basically eat junk food and clear out the fridge and freezer of any quick type junk food and swear to not eat or buy it ever again! Wife works 9/10 new years eve.

I was dozing on the couch, heard something like thunder. Was concerned about what it was, no storms forecast. Oh, I forgot. Fireworks. New Years.

Back around 2000 or so our kids wanted to stay up until midnight. We turned on the TV and after a bit they showed a countdown and celebration from somewhere - and we said 'that's it' and sent the kids to bed. It was 10pm after all, and I was beat...
