A New Home for my Karl Benz Engine

I was able to get some shop time today and tried my hand at making sprockets.

These are 10 tooth and 30 tooth sprockets for #35 chain for the final drive.
Polished and installed.

More gearing to design for the internal parts.

Thanks for looking

Thanks savarin
Things will slow down now that I have to figure out how to make a gear reducer and differential.

Thanks Chris I am starting to work on the gear reducer now.

This thing is more complex than I knew!
Hey there is a wheel chair in the trash down the street. The rubber tires look like good material for this project. I know you already have tires...just sayin...

Thanks Robert
My engine runs faster then the Benz did and my output pulley is larger in scale so I will need a gear reducer to slow things down. I think around 1 to 1 1/2 mph should be about right for final speed.

After much ado I did get the housing completed. It is a double reduction gear setup centering around the fixed center gear that makes for spacing the other two shafts critical. I did fudge a little on the first shaft to get a nice tooth depth but the last shaft was right on spot. Don't know how that happened but I will take it.

Now I will try to get this positioned in the frame next to the engine. I can already see some interference problems that will have to be worked out.

Thanks for looking
