What's Wrong With This Picture?

What sort of wood did you burn? In my neck of the woods it would all have been some soft evergreen that would have contaminated the flavor of anything cooked over it. (Coals excepted)

I am fortunate to have lived all my life with unlimited oak/hickory, etc. I grew up with wood heat so lots of experience. And no pellet smoker either. My wood smoker turns out great ribs and brisket

My wife's brother used to request lard sandwiches for school every day. Everyone thought it a bit strange but if that's what he liked.... He would sell them to the kids who were better off and he made enough money to buy a bike.

I would ask my mom for pepperoni and butter sandwiches.

I got them as if I didn’t get the lunch I wanted I wouldn’t eat it.

I still eat them at times and have no heart or cholesterol issues.

Roast pork tonight,, no gravy as had it with salad so nice big pot of dripping and juice for the mornings toast with plenty of fresh ground black pepper. Yum.

The bread goes in, the toast comes out, but where does the bread go?

At work we had and industrial toaster, made the best toast and was fast too.

It had wire tank treads that came in from both sides at the top and pulled the bread or bagel through and it dropped out of the bottom when it cycled through.

I say we had one as too many freakin mouthbreathers (we have 1200 employees) would butter the bread before putting it through the toaster.

This would not only set their toast on fire, but everyone else’s that was in the machine at the time.

They walk among us.

I have something similar out in a storage camper that I picked up when salvage a local 100 year old local restaurant.

Hmm, I should try to sell it on Facebook marketplace. It’s neat looking almost like R2D2 but deserves a better place so more people can appreciate it.
