Popped into my 'local' machinists Alladin's cave on the way back from my 'day' in the office and bought a little bit of something to make a 'compund replacement' toolpost rest and picked up a few bits of brass and a small brass sheet for possible shim use:
The chunk of mild steel cost me a bit less than a tenner and they costed the brass up to make it £15.
Probably because I saw this and also bought it:
£50. The added rests are quite handy. That's the second bit of Warco kit I have in the shop now.
Might have to keep an eye out for a second hand Warco GH600 to make up the set!
Oh and I nearly forgot: on the way to the business park's little cafe, I saw a load of aluminium in a skip and as the business owner was just outside I asked him if it was going to the tip and he said yes, so I asked him if he minded if I took a few bits, and he told me to take it all, so I did. God knows what I'll do with it but I've no shortage of mystery aluminium now.
