VFD doesn't like heat

Had it apart on the table and could see nothing obvious. I did resolder a few suspect joints. Put it back into service and same thing happened. Morning temperatures in the shop made it work just fine but afternoon temps above about 75 F and it would not turn on at all.

I waited till a cool morning, so it was working good and then used a heat gun to heat one spot at a time. Kept working no matter what. So I turned it off and heated the whole thing to 'warm to the touch'. Still kept working fine, till afternoon.

Trying to think of a use for it when no summer temps are expected!:)

Set up a new Huangyang unit yesterday. Now I'm happy again.

sounds like you might have an incoming voltage problem for that unit. when above 75, too many air conditioners on the line? Not just in your house... maybe a brownout?

I've checked the incoming voltage at the time of the malfunction, and it is 240 volts give or take a few.

With my old XSY-AT1 VFD I was able to run my belt grinder at 75 Hz. I grinds much faster at 75 compared to 60Hz. I can't figure out how to do that with this Huangyang unit. It must be similar to running a spindle at high RPM but I haven't figured it out yet.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you want the frequency fixed at 75hz or do you want it variable and set with the onboard potentiometer?

I think a great number of large screen TVs and other electronics end up in landfills because of bad capacitors. Is a shame

Yes, I want to be able to control it with the potentiometer for fine sharpening and belt tracking

Yes, but, this wont even come on if it's warm. There is no heat build up.

This is such a weird problem. I hope to hear the answer.
