In an odd injury incident today, I was taking down a box from on top of the cabinets in my garage, but I didn't realize years ago I had put something on top of the box. So naturally, it came off and hit me in the face, literally point on to my upper lip. I was up on a step stool but didn't fall. Yeah, it's a tile grout spreader and the point is damn sharp, I can tell you. My upper lip is still bleeding.

Moral of the story? Not sure, other then don't do something stupid like stacking stuff where you can't see it. Be careful out there. I threw it away, as I have no intention of ever tiling anything again.

If you didn't throw it away too far, you might consider retrieving it, cutting the handle off and putting the stainless sheet with any other materials you have for yet-to-be-defined projects. YMMV

I'm glad it didn't hit you in the eye.

Be careful out there.

Yes, thank God it didn't hit your eyes. I think what you did is pretty much done by a good number of us who have smaller shops.

After a close one like that I’ve made a rule of not overfilling any boxes that are above head height. It’s one of those rules that has stuck because of the consequences.

Glad it didn’t get an eye and that you didn’t fall. Being a junkyard dog I’m with Extropic. Not only learn from it, but put it to good use!

Ouch! Though glad it wasn't worse...
That's a very common hazard on construction sites, falling tools & materials left up top. Years ago, bought a bunch of stickers "↑Look Up Before Moving↑" and put them on every ladder & scaffold I owned. Most guys on the crew still got knocked on the head, at least once...
