Wife was not happy at all... this was over 26 years ago... she finally got over it last week.

Not really.......... I eat only enough to suit my routine, which is not a great deal to be fair. Food bill is usually well under £100 (usually around £45) per week my "missus" and myself.

It was the car that I had for the least amount of time... not joking. I was out with her one day and was going to make an u-turn... well, I floored the gas pedal and ended up facing the wrong way. She gave me a month to get rid of it. Oh, and she wanted to drive the next car to make sure it was a normal car and I would not get killed on it. Probably had the car for 6 months or so when this happened.
Only photo that I could find and you can't even see the car! This was next to a co-worker/friend in his Camaro Z28... around 1996
EDIT: Found a few more. Goddaughter sitting in the car...
I gave in, of course. I was young and stupid (now I am old). Got a daily driver (four door BMW 328) and a fun car (used '93 white Mazda Miata). After she drove the Miata and said it was fine. Meaning, that it was slow enough. I then proceeded to install a turbo, intercooler, suspension, etc.
That was one fast Tic-Tac...

Oh I know that routine..... Wierdly enough, only happened once in 25 years with my missus, guess I landed lucky given that and that she not only doesnt bother about my hobbies, but actively supports them, sometimes financially if she insists on it.

Not ruddy likely. I know her enough to know that.
Besides, she knows what my kit is worth (never hidden it and better she knows than not) and she knows the payday I can reap if I should sell up. Talking middle 5 figure payday at the minimum if I sold up everything.
