I was thinking that too. It appears there may not be enough weight transferred to the rear idler wheels to be effective. The tracks also look like they could use more tread...

Looks like it is more designed to be a stabiliser than anything else, though with so little tension on the "tracks" other than weight of the thing lus the rider, how effective would/could it actually be?

If it kept it from sinking into the mud, and provided some traction, if only then, it would work great. I'd be tempted to emulate it if I still had need of a riding mower.
