Spare parts for an old Leatherman

A brief update on this! The file itself arrived, but I’m still waiting for the tools :encourage:

TSA gets rid of "airport confiscated items" knives, scissors, etc by the pound! They given them to the state agency to sell so it depends upon where you live. You can also find these items on ebay. Just google the terms such as "tsa confiscated items for sale" and look around.

The stuff is as you might imagine, a mixed bag! I did this once and got a whole bag of items. Some are ok, a couple are really nice, and of course there is the junk that people carry around.

Here is an example listing, but maybe not the best (see the reviews):

You are probably better off purchasing directly from the state agency that the TSA turns them over too, but some states do no sell to just anyone. I expect that some of the ebay sellers sort out the good stuff and sell of the poor stuff by the pound.

Now that you mention it, I think Pennsylvania includes these in their periodic surplus equipment sales.

Definitely buyer beware: they show a big pile, but the fine print says “You will receive 5 randomly selected ones from the lot.”
