Did you have to think about "Red lid on blue base or color coordinated"?
I haven't decided yet.

A problem with buying from Dollar Tree is when you find the perfect application for the item, and you need more, DT no longer has them.

They came with the lids assembled that way – I figured it would be easier for me to find the gap between the two parts to get the lid off.

I plan on going back to DT in a week or som once I've determined whether or not I can use more of the boxes (and have found a place for them to live).

I'm a cheap type to begin with, but I've got a half dozen or so old cans tuna or chicken came in. Use them to hold hardware and other small items when working on stuff. Yes; I wash the smell out with soap and water.

Reuse, to suit your needs, is good.
Ecological, as well as economical.
