Depends on the car A lot of engines are not as rare as a shaper vise.A shaper without it's vise is like buying a car with no engine. Pretty worthless in my opinion.

Funny how one man's "usefulness" is another man's overkill. Out of all the things I've done with mine I've only once gotten close to the limit of it's usefulness. For my application a hulking 5,000lb shaper consuming 1/4 of my shop space is the epitome of useless. YMMV.BTW, small shapers such as those are quite limited so far as their usefulness is concerned, compared to nearly any and all machine tools.
I have a crank up platform lift good for 750 lbs. Match height and slide on or off. Once on the platform I can roll it around Easy enough. I expect it weighs over 300 maybe close 400. It’s even tough to slide on the plywood I put on the platform. Not one you take off for fun for sure. Works great, nice and square. Even hold small parts well.OK, I just threw my back out, gave myself a hernia and my right pinkie toe got shot off just looking at this picture. Holy hell, who helps put that thing on your machine... King Kong?! LOL
Why would you ever take it off.OK, I just threw my back out, gave myself a hernia and my right pinkie toe got shot off just looking at this picture. Holy hell, who helps put that thing on your machine... King Kong?! LOL
