Rockwell Lathe Knocking Sound

I saw the vid- -I think it's an adjustment to the clutch/shifter mechanism
This is a loud, very noticeable noise and not a bearing--
I think it may be this as well i have been trying to adjust it using the directions in the manual but the adjustment has no effect or makes the sound worse.

It could be a wear issue and you have run out of range on the adjustment perhaps

To me it sounds like the adjustment of the shot bolts that engage the fast speed range are not withdrawing from the drive holes in the bull gear quite far enough to fully disengage.

This is somthing I was thinking as well. So I adjusted the clutch to withdraw to the max. Then it was not engaging in direct drive anymore becuase the clutch disengaged too far back. so I played with it trying to find the balance point but the sound only got worse.
