But of course it only trips on down-feed because this little toggle/lever bit for up-feed trip is broken. Lagun wants $200. I decided it is an excuse to practice making a form tool for the lathe. Future project. I don't use the power feed that often, especially in up-feed.
This was an inexpensive but time consuming solution - I'm retired, so I've got time. But several times I was thinking "If I had just bought the Lagun part I'd be done in 10 minutes!" As it turned out I'm glad I went this way. I may try and do some braze-repair on the original part "just because". I did a lot of silver soldering in the (way) past, but very little bronze brazing. Now that I have a working solution, I can afford to experiment on the broken part. I do not have both pieces that broke off, as I mentioned earlier, so I'll have to machine a flat into the part and braze in a custom piece. (Edit to acknowledge @Firstram, whose earlier post suggested this approach). IDK.
