Pressure Washer

I store my gas unit in an unheated garage. I remove the spark plug and cycle RV antifreeze through it by pulling on the recoil starter rope a few times. When bright pink fluid starts coming out the high pressure side of the pump I know there’s enough in it won’t freeze.

To winterize, I disconnect all hoses, give the starter a few tugs with the ignition off to purge the pump, and drain the gas out of the tank & carburetor bowl. Also after each use, I drain the supply and pressure hoses, spray quick connect couplings on both with WD-40 and couple them together so no debris can get into them.

Like every other gas engine which sits for a few months it should be prepped for down time or the carburetors get gummed up. And in cold climes water freezes. One more fall chore. At the risk of diverting the thread......At least I'm no longer climbing a ladder taking down the summer screens, checking the window glaze, then installing the winter storm windows. Don't forget to bleed the radiators. There is an increasing percentage of the population that has no idea what I'm writing about......
