POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Got this clutch/shaft disassembled. The electromagnetic clutch was assembled in place.

It came out looking like this (below). I've put the clutch back together, be interesting to see if it works. It won't be going back into the lathe, since the other components are long gone. The gear visible above interfaced to a gear on the cross slide leadscrew, so this is just extra drag on the leadscrew when turning it by hand. My shop helper (aka wife) got the job of cleaning the leadscrew in the parts washer while I cleaned the casting. Now to go shopping for replacement bearings.

Sigh... leave it to me to make the mistake of buying the wrong roll of insulation... The plan was to buy it in one long piece and cut it to 12'... but not sure what I did, but ended up buying the packs that have 9 - 8' long pieces... oh well... I need to get that first row of plywood panels installed. I want the bottom 4' in place first.

So you are going to surface mount the power?

Now you guys got me worried... am I doing something wrong?? My plan was to place the 2-gang boxes inside. Above that panel I installed. So all outlets are at 4' high. Running PVC gray conduit to the ceiling. All behind the top panel...

Jamie, are you using exterior grade pressure treated ply on that? I don't think you need pressure treated.
might as well mount the pvc on the surface, you already did the insulation and didn't drill. and you can move it more easily.

Yes. 3/4” panels (heavy as heck! ). But it is only for that first row since it will take most of the beating and exposed to some water when I clean the floor… panels for the top might be regular plywood or OSB

yea, pressure treated is really wet. I hope your insulation doesn't mold up while it dries. yea thats a thing. your washing the floor should not be an issue with regular exterior grade... and btw, keep your panels 1/2" above the floor. you don't need the concrete leaching into the panels, either with plain exterior grade or treated. the treated can handle it, but the salts really soak in.
