POTD- PROJECT OF THE DAY: What Did You Make In Your Shop Today?

Finished up my wife's Christmas present. I make her something every year, but thought I'd try something different this year. Took a bit of experimenting but they came out just as I was hoping. Got pretty good at them by the third one. Merry Christmas everyone!View attachment 471857View attachment 471858View attachment 471859View attachment 471860View attachment 471861View attachment 471862

Haven't you done some yard art for her in the past?

Very nice.

Merry Christmas to all

My daughter decided I was finally old enough to follow the instructions on a Lego set. Merry Christmas! This took 2-4 hours and I did require reading glasses. Lol

thanks! I did - a windmill last year and Captain Charlie the Guard Chicken the year before. I didn't have time this year as I only got home on the 16th and I fancied doing something different :)

All 4 done. That should hold me for a bit.

Don’t throw away your prints, sketches, or whatever you used to make them. I started out with 4, later expanded to 8, then to 12. I’m well over a couple dozen now.

The older I get the more I seem to accumulate. I like the fact that I can just change out tool holders rather than search for a tool then a holder. Now days the 2 dozen most used tools are easier to find since they in dedicated holders.

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that I should have gone for a smaller track layout... but I will never tell my wife that...

Started to build the 6'6" x 12' frame for the 1:32 slot car. I still do not have a workshop, but that does not mean that I can't work there, hehehehe

^^^ Just make it so you can raise it and lower it as needed. Generally more ceiling space than floor space. Maybe 6 or 7 inches more but more none the less.

Yes, I should be good there. I will measure again just to double check.

Also keeping it as light as possible. Can’t find XPS 2”x4’x8’ foam board… all that I can find are EPS foam boards..

I worked on making room by re-arranging my shop to clear out some clutter and to make room next to my lathe for a mill that I have yet to buy but I will be ready when that day comes.
